Arkells Release “Ride” Featuring GROUPLOVE, New Album ‘Between Us’ Out April 17th

9X JUNO Award winners Arkells release the breezy summertime-feeling single “Ride” (feat. GROUPLOVE) via Universal Music Canada and Virgin Music Group. “Ride” is the 4th release from Arkells forthcoming album Between Us, due April 17th. The track pairs GROUPLOVE’s signature balance of soft vocals and punching falsettos, with Arkells’ comforting indie-pop groove.

“On its face, the song is about riding a bike in the city,” admits frontman Max Kerman. “That unbridled feeling of pedaling along to the song in your head.  But beneath the surface, the bike's a metaphor. When life tries to bribe you with a litany of material things, can a simple, utilitarian object like a bicycle be all you need? We asked GROUPLOVE to join us because when Christian and Hannah sing together, we feel a chemical reaction to their voices. That pure, explosive freedom we needed in the song.”

Arkells’ new album Between Us is produced by LA based John Congleton (St. Vincent, Death Cab for Cutie, Wallows). It follows the latest release “Next Summer” with its instantly hummable chorus, the previously released radio favourite “Money” (featuring Portugal. The Man) and the punchy tune “What Good?,” to round out the first taste of new music from this Between Us era.

Between Us is available now for pre-order on vinyl, and CD, including a signed edition on grass-green vinyl. The cover was shot by Boston-based artist and photographer Pelle Cass, who photographed the vibrant image of Arkells atop Hamilton’s Jackson Square rooftop - a nod to their roots.

Arkells’ 2026 tour in support of Between Us strives to create unique experiences in a variety of settings, largely up-close and personal. Arkells are set to road trip across the pond for a string of European and UK tour dates from March 12 – 20, to introduce the new music. The shows will bring the band to various cities in Germany, Netherlands, and United Kingdom, before heading to the US and Canada April-June. Their just-announced Canadian run features a string of “City Takeovers” where the band can be seen in “I can believe this is happening” series of small clubs over 3 nights – many of which they have not played in over a decade.
